About the Technical Product Owner (API) – Travel Industry (NDC) role
As a a skilled and passionate Technical Product Owner with expertise in API development and a deep understanding of the New Distribution Capability (NDC) standard. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering our API products to enhance the travel booking experience for our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize features, with a focus on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of travel booking workflows.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and business development, to translate customer needs into scalable API solutions.
- Define and prioritize user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria, considering the unique challenges and opportunities within the travel industry.
- Utilize expertise in API mapping and workflow assessment to design and optimize integration pathways between our APIs and external systems.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on NDC and API-related matters, providing guidance and support to internal teams and external partners.
- Monitor industry trends and developments in API technology and travel distribution to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Technical Product Owner or similar role, with a focus on API development in the travel industry.
- Deep understanding of the New Distribution Capability (NDC) standard and its implications for airline distribution.
- Strong knowledge of API mapping techniques and workflow assessment methodologies.
- Experience working with travel industry stakeholders such as airlines, global distribution systems (GDS), and travel agencies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools.
- Experience with API management platforms and documentation tools is a plus.
- Passion for innovation and a customer-centric mindset.
